MILLANG, Nov 1: A group of government officers from East Siang district distributed essential items like clothes and utensils to the families affected by the fire accident that had occurred here in Upper Siang district recently.
The fire, which occurred on 18 October, devoured 19 houses in Millang village. Although there was no casualty, most of the valuable items in the houses could not be retrieved.
Officials of the Upper Siang administration, Minister Alo Libang, MP Tapir Gao, and Mariyang-Geku MLA Kanggong Taku, besides representatives of NGOs and social organizations have also visited the village and gave assistance to the affected families.
