ITANAGAR, Jan 17: Twenty homestay operators from Boleng, Basar, Ledum, Yingkiong, Lumdung and Dambuk were taken to Mechuka, in Shi-Yomi district, during a ‘study-cum-in-house training’ programme organised by the tourism department on 13 and 14 January.
During the tour, which was organised in collaboration with the Mechuka Eco-Tourism and Conservation Society, the trainees witnessed and experienced the operation and management of well-established homestays.
In November last year, 20 homestay operators from Wakro, Namsai, Changlang, Roing and Tezu had been taken to Lower Subansiri HQ Ziro for a similar training, which was hosted by local NGO NgunuZiro.
The two teams were taken to various homestays to participate in interactions, and were imparted training in overall management of homestays.
