PASIGHAT, Jan 22: Pasighat East MLA Kaling Moyong on Tuesday handed over fixed deposit certificates (FDCs) under the Dulari Kanya Yojana to five beneficiaries at Mirbuk Government Secondary School here in East Siang district.
Speaking on the occasion, Moyong said, “This is a special scheme to check infant mortality and also would help to build progressive career in life.”
Giving details of the scheme, the MLA further said that as per the scheme, the government will deposit Rs 20,000 in the bank account in the name of a girl child born in any government hospital. The amount will be paid along with the accrued interest after the girl child attains 18 years of age, he added.
DMO Dr Kaling Dai informed that “till date about 300 have been registered and 160 more FDCs are ready to be handed over on the ensuing Republic Day.”
Among others, ADC Tatdo Borang, DMO Dr Kaling Dai, DPO SK Sarma, DANO Dr N Ratan were present on the occasion. (DIPRO)
