ZIRO, Sep 15: Minister for Animal Husbandry, Veterinary & Dairy Development, Research and Art and Culture, Dr. Mohesh Chai inspected the ongoing NEC projects under Animal Husbandry and Veterinary in Lower Subansiri district recently.
At Mai village under Yachuli sub-division, the Minister inspected the project site for establishment of goatery, poultry, piggery, dairy and fisheries as a single component for the community. While interacting with the executing agency, Dr.Chai emphasized on adhering to the standard specified by the government and completing the projects within the given deadline. He also appealed to the villagers to cooperate with the executing agency as the project could usher in employment opportunities and enhance economic activities of the village.
Later, responding to the one point memorandum submitted by the villagers for maintenance of road connecting the project site, Dr. Chai assured to look into the matter at the earliest.
The Minister also inspected the District Pig Breeding farm at Siro in Ziro. The said project on completion would cater to the high demand of piglets and would serve as a demonstration field for livestock farmers in district, he added. He also inspected the cattle breeding farm at Yachuli.
Later, he visited the DVO office, veterinary hospital and district museum at Ziro and interacted with officers and the staffs.
Earlier, on Friday the Minister also inaugurated a State Archives Building of the department of Research at Itanagar amidst the presence of Parliamentary Secretary for Research Gum Tayeng, Commissioner Research Dani Sulu, Director Research Batem Pertin and other officials of the department.
While visiting the Archival Records, the Minister emphasized on the need to maintain records of various department way back from 30 years in the State Archive.
Established in 1977, the department has various vital records to be archived. Constructed under
SPA scheme of the year 2012-13, the State Archive Building would house all significant records of
state government since its evolution including administrative, political, establishment, judicial,
education, medical, map/political map, boundary matters, socio-cultural aspects, religion, manuscripts,
gazetteers etc, besides all other publications from NEFA days.
Later, Dr. Chai along with the Parliamentary Secretary and others attended the departmental review meeting where various activities of the department were reviewed and discussed. (DIPRO)
