ITANAGAR, Oct 2: Dr B D Mishra will be sworn-in as the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh in the Darbar Hall, Raj Bhavan at 11.30 am on Tuesday.
The Governor designate is scheduled to reach Itanagar on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, state reception will be accorded to the outgoing Governor P B Acharya at the Raj Bhavan helipad as he leaves for Nagaland the same day.
Earlier, the state government led by state Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein hosted a farewell high tea for Governor P B Acharya and his wife Kavita Acharya at the state Guest House in Niti Vihar, Itanagar on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor conveyed his good wishes and expressed hope that the Arunachal Pradesh will develop in leaps and bounds. He also hoped that his initiatives such as Autonomous Puroik Welfare Board, Department of Indigenous Faith and Cultural Affairs, Bhaichara Samiti etc will further strengthen the Arunachalee Society.
State Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, Union Minister of State (Home) Kiren Rijiju and Speaker of Arunachal Pradesh State Legislative Assembly, T N Thongdok also said that Acharya has become ‘People’s Governor’, who understood the challenges of the weaker section, marginal population, indigenous faith communities, bureaucrats, politicians, academicians, technocrats and non-government organizations.
