Students call Siang bandh

ITANAGAR, Oct 16: The Adi Students’ Union, Siang District (AdiSUSD) on Monday declared 12 hour bandh in entire Adi inhabited area on October 30 next as first phase of its democratic movement against the district administration’s alleged failure to fulfill its five point demands.
The Union has been demanding the district administration to immediately carry out eviction drive against the encroachers at Govt Hr Sec Schools of Pessing, Kaying, Boleng, Rumgong and Pangin, and from the administrative area of Jomlo-Mobuk.
It also called for erecting permanent boundary walls around those schools to prevent such illegal land grabbing .
The Union already organized a peaceful rally-cum-dharna in protest against the same in the month of May at Pangin.
Strongly demanding the DA to immediately redress the grievances, the Union further threatened to launch second and third phases of democratic movements.
