Assam CM to flag off MTB Tawang Challenge

ITANAGAR, Oct 21: Around 30 top professional riders from the country and state will participate in a national level cycling competition being organized as part of the Tawang Festival.
The cycling competition christened as MTB Tawang Challenge, will take the riders and 28 officials and supporting staff through the highways in Assam and take the route via Rowta- Balemo-Kalaktang-Rupa-Bomdila-Dirang-Sella Pass- Jang covering a distance of around 500 km before culmination at Tawang on October 28, informed Ramesh Linggi, Joint Director Youth Affairs.
Assam Chief Minister Sarbanada Sonowal will flag off the race at Khanapara ground, Guwahati on October 23.
Parliamentary Secretary (Sports and Youth Affairs) Nyamar Karbak, Director of Youth Affairs DK Dinglow, Miss Tiara India International Chum Darang will also be joining the flag-off ceremony.
International riders and observers from National Cycling Federation of India are also attending the event organized by Department of Youth Affairs, Government of Arunachal Pradesh.
The winner, second and third place finishers will be awarded cash prizes of Rs 50,000, Rs 35,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively. There will be five consolation prizes of Rs 5000 each.
