ITANAGAR, Oct 29: Sports Authority of Arunachal Member Secretary Gumnya Karbak has sent off the Mt Chuimo expedition team from here on Sunday.
Led by Everester Tapi Mra, the team members include Tagit Sorang, Taru Hai, Ningchung Rava and Pakra Raji.
The Mt Chuimo, 6800 meters above the sea level, is located on the eastern side of Mt Kangto under Lada circle of East Kameng district. During its 45 days expedition, the team will trek from Lada Circle to explore Mt Chuimo’s base area for further expedition to the mountain peak in the future.
A brain child of Sports and Youth Secretary, Dani Salu, the expedition is being sponsored by the state Department of Sports & Youth Affairs.
Earlier in April 4 this year, a four-member team, including Tapi Mra had scaled the base camp of Mt Kangto which stands at 12,500 ft above the sea level.
