Home Minister updates Governor on law and order

ITANAGAR, Oct 30: Home Minister Kumar Waii called on Governor Dr B D Mishra at the Raj Bhavan on Monday and discussed the overall law and order situation and other security related issues of the state.
The Governor emphasized on establishment of sanctioned police stations in the state, and discussed the recruitment drive for police personnel to meet the shortage.
He suggested utilizing the services of ex -servicemen and consider appropriately their basic education at the time of their recruitment in the armed forces on par with the laid down academic qualification for various advertised or reserved posts by granting due and deserving waver to the ex-servicemen.
Governor Mishra also stressed on the need of giving reasonable job opportunities to the members of Special Service as suggested by the centre.
Further sharing his interactions with security officials, the Governor stressed on improvement of professional knowledge and technical proficiency of police personnel, including their musketry training, deployed for the security duties in various sensitive locations.
The Governor complimented the home minister for his understanding of the issues and thanked him for his assurance for working on all security issues in the interest of the people of Arunachal Pradesh. (PRO, Raj Bhavan)
