ITANAGAR, Nov 2: Reacting to the allegation of misusing government machineries by the Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju on Thursday hit back and termed the allegation as ludicrous.
Writing in the micro-blogging site Twitter, Rijiju stated that he uses helicopters to reach remote locations for official work and not for election purposes.
“I used the Home Ministry helicopter not the Indian Air Force. Also, Congress did not built roads in the state so I had to fly,” Rijiju stated.
Addressing reporters at the Congress Bhavan on Tuesday, APCC President Takam Sanjoy had said that the party has sought investigation against the MoS for misusing government machineries, particularly chartering of the Indian Air Force helicopters for mostly BJP rallies and meetings, instead of government events.
The APCC also claimed that it wrote to the Prime Minister’s Office demanding immediate investigation into the matter.
