DAPORIJO/ KHONSA, Nov 25: Secretary of Geology & Mining, Dr Madhu Rani Teotia held a meeting with all heads of offices of Upper Subansiri district, in connection with the “Sankalp Se Siddhi Tak – New India Manthan” on November 24 in the Rijo Conference Hall at Daporijo during her tour to the district.
Deputy Commissioner Danish Ashraf presented an overview of the district and highlighted the various important projects being implemented in the district to the attending officials.
Taking note of the implementation and progress of various ongoing centrally sponsored schemes and state flagship programmes, she advised all the heads of offices to be actively involved in achieving the targets set by the government within the set timeframe.
MLA DiktoYekar remarked that most of the government schemes are running late due to slow funding process and requested the Secretary to take up the matter with an appropriate forum.
The meeting was followed by visit to various ongoing project sites in the district, like the mini secretariat, outdoor stadium and water treatment plant at Daporijo.
On her second day in Daporijo, the Secretary visited the primary health centre in Ligu, along with the DC, DMO and other HoDs; Anganwadi centre at Liruk and inspected Government Degree College, Daporijo.
She also inaugurated the mini library at GHSS, Daporijo, which was funded under the DC’s UNTIED fund, and went on to inspect several other locations of importance, besides the Trans-Arunachal Highway work.
A similar programme was held at Khonsa, where a committee constituted by the state government to look after the implementation of various schemes, monitored the progress of the works in Tirap district.
The team, headed by the Agriculture Minister Wangki Lowang as chairman, Secretary Planning Joram Beda as member secretary and MLA W Sawin as member, visited various educational and health institutes.
They took stock of the register of medicines and FPS, mid day meal, availability of books and uniform.
The team also interacted with the students, teachers and villagers.
Later, a meeting with all HoDs on “Sankalp Se Siddhi Tak” was held, where the Member Secretary gave a PowerPoint presentation of all state and central schemes and guided the HoDs for improvisation and awareness amongst the public to take benefit of the people-oriented schemes.
Minister, Wangki Lowang also shared his experience on various schemes and requested the HoDs to come with more consorted efforts and be proactive so that very objective of developing the poor is manifested.
Further, DC P N Thungun requested the MLAs of the area to come up with ideas and initiatives so that every objective of Sankalp se Sidhhi is achieved, especially an ODF Tirap.
