Door-to-door campaign to detect TB in four districts begins

ITANAGAR, Dec 4: The State TB Centre, Directorate of Health Services, in collaboration with District Health Societies (RNTCP) on Monday started the third phase of active TB case finding campaign to detect TB in the four selected districts of Papum Pare, Lower Subansiri, East Kameng and East Siang.
The districts have been selected based on the burden of TB, case-finding efforts, TB-HIV, and drug-resistant TB.
Health personnel from General Health Services, Revised National TB Control Programme and ASHAs, to be led by District TB Officers, will carry out door-to-door campaigns in high priority and vulnerable areas for identification of people with suspected active TB.
The campaign will cover slum areas, unorganised labourer groups, remote villages, hostels, orphanages, destitute homes, and people seeking traditional healing for TB.
The first and second phases of the campaign were conducted in East Kameng, Papum Pare, and Lower Subansiri districts.
