SAWA, Dec 13: The All East Kameng Environments & Forest Protection Development Committee (AEKEFPDC) organised a two-day awareness camp for the people of Sawa village in East Kameng district from 24-25 November.
Addressing the participants, Chayang Tajo Range Forest Officer, JM Gamder briefed them about the importance of planting trees and preserving wildlife.
It was decided during the camp that felling of trees, fishing using explosives and chemicals, and hunting wildlife would be strictly prohibited in the village, and that strict action would be taken against anyone found violating the rules.
