ZPM opposes allowing mobile phones in schools

LONGDING, Jan 9: Longding ZPM Noksa Saham has advocated making schools mobile phone-free zones.
“Mobile phones should not be allowed in school campuses as they distract the student’s mind from their studies,” said the ZPM while addressing the students, teachers and parents during a function at the government middle school here on Monday.
Saham urged the parents and teachers to guide the students to use their stipends “for the intended purposes only, as most of the students purchase costly mobile phones with their stipend.”
The ZPM also announced to sponsor the construction of two girls’ toilets from his own personal means.
Earlier, the headmaster of the school, Sanwang Wangsa, highlighted the academic achievements of the students of the school.
Longding DDSE Mongol Taki advised the students against rash motorcycle riding. He also advised them not to misuse the social media.
Chief of Niaunu, Tokhau Wangham also spoke. (DIPRO)
