BOMDILA, Feb 28: The 5th edition of the Pedung Archery Tournament concluded on Wednesday here at the archery ground in Pedung village.
Organised as part of Losar festival, the tournament was organised by the Pedung Archery Club under the chair of Prem Thilley Sunickjee and secretary Lobsang Genchen from 19 to 28 February.
Attending the tournament, Advisor to Sajolang Elite Society (SES), Aju Khunjuju advised players to maintain team spirit and maintain the ancient game of archery.
The female teams were the LMG and Family Line. The male teams included Pedung Archery Club, Sa-Dawa, Sera Youth Welfare Society Archery Club, Jamyang (PAC), Monyul and Lingesar Family Line.
On the final day, Pedung Archery Club won the tournament with a score of 111 points, while Lingesar Family Line came in at second place with 71 points.
In the female category, LMG won the tournament against arch rival Family Line.
The winning team and runners-up team in the male category were awarded cash prize of Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000 respectively.
Winners and runners-up of the female category were awarded with cash prize of Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000.
The ‘man of the tournament’ and ‘woman of the tournament’ winners received Rs 5000 and Rs 2000 respectively.
SES president Johny Miji and Sub Divisional Officer Gombu Tsering also attended the programme.
