ITANAGAR, Mar 26: Taking a serious view of the allocation of untied fund amounting Rs 22741.43 lakhs for various developmental projects this month alone for the financial year 2017-18 that will end on 31 March, the Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has demanded that the chief secretary ‘call back’ the entire amount.
‘How can the BJP-led state government implement those projects within a fortnight?” it questioned in a representation to the chief secretary.
The APCC termed the allocation of the amount an apparent ploy to siphon off public money, and demanded that the chief secretary intervene in the matter and take necessary action in this regard.
‘The state government will be answerable if they cannot execute the projects by the end of this month,’ the APCC said.
It also expressed strong objection to the alleged unequal distribution of welfare funds among the assembly constituencies, stating that every constituency deserves to be awarded the same amount of fund for developmental activities.
‘The state government should maintain neutrality while allocating developmental funds,’ it said.
