Lowangdong, Sawin inaugurate new anchal block

KHONSA, Mar 26: Adviser to Chief Minister, Wanglin Lowangdong and Khonsa (East) MLA Wanglam Sawin on Monday inaugurated the newly created Khela-Bunting anchal block bifurcating the Khela-Lamsa anchal block.
They also inaugurated a 50-bedded hostel and a multipurpose community hall at Khela.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Lowangdong said the creation of the new block would expedite development at the grassroots level.
Stating that no circle officers (CO) have been posted at Borduria and Longgo despite creation of all necessary infrastructure, he appealed to the state government to post COs with sufficient staff to the two circles without any further delay.
Replying to a public memorandum submitted to him for water supply for wet rice cultivation, Lowangdong asked the WRD department to prepare an estimate so that an irrigation channel may be constructed before July this year.
He advised the villagers to take up horticulture and agriculture activities, saying that their area was very suitable for such crops.
Sawin called upon the government officers and officials to discharge their duties and work for the development of the CK belt. He said the area/belt is still lagging behind other areas on all fronts, including education and employment.
He advised the children of his constituency to study hard to prepare themselves to compete successfully in any job-oriented examination.
He informed that the chief minister had recently said “There will be no viva voce for interview for government jobs and appointment will be done purely on merit.”
He also urged the unemployed educated youths to take up horti-agri activities for self-employment, instead of searching for government jobs.
The 50-bedded girls hostel was constructed at a cost of Rs 1 crore, funded under MsDP, while the multipurpose community hall was constructed with MLALAD fund of Borduria-Bogapani at a cost of Rs 30 lakhs, informed Deputy Commissioner PN Thungon.
Meanwhile, the DC directed all the work agencies of his district to monitor and supervise all ongoing government schemes to ensure work quality, saying there would be no compromise with the quality of work.
Taking the opportunity, he urged all the parents of Khela and its neighboring villages to get their children fully vaccinated. Stating that school admission of children will not be considered without health card, he appealed to all to give more importance to education of girl child.
ZPC Sontung Lowang Bangsia expressed hope that the creation of the new block would ensure development of the area as well as the people at the grassroots level.
Tirap SP JK Meena emphasized on the importance of games and sports and physical fitness to join government jobs, especially the military, the police, and the forest department.
The programme was also attended by Boken Kino, vistarak, eastern parliamentary BJP, chiefs, GBs and public from the newly bifurcated Khela-Bunting and Bari-Basip anchal block. (DIPRO)
