GoAP’s scholarship/stipend schemes on-boarded onto NSP, first in the country: CM

ITANAGAR, Mar 30: Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Friday said all the scholarship/stipend schemes of the state government have been on-boarded onto the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) and been made accessible to all.
He said this after launching the on-boarding of the state government’s scholarships schemes onto the NSP, which is the first in the country, customized exclusively for Arunachal.
Congratulating the IT department for the initiative which will benefit thousands of Arunachalee students studying all over India by e-enabling the scholarship process, the CM said the major benefit of the NSP exercise has been “de-duplication and elimination of multiple scholarships by an individual, saving government fund to the tune of Rs 3 crore of 1500 application forms.”
The CM requested all the departments and government organisations to adopt IT for transparency, accountability and efficiency.
He lauded the IT department for processing more than 45,000 applications and disbursing 16.13 crore under the directorate of higher & technical education (DHTE), and Rs 26 crore under the SJETA department through the NSP.
IT Special Secretary Prince Dhawan presented a brief on the NSP and explained the process, features and benefits of the NSP. He requested the government to “mandate the on-boarding of all current and future scholarship schemes onto the NSP for the benefit of APST students.”
he NSP is a one-stop solution through which various services, starting from student application, receipt, processing, sanction and disbursal of various scholarships/stipends of the Arunachal Pradesh government, along with central government schemes, are e-enabled. It aims at providing a common electronic portal for implementing various scholarships schemes launched by the union government and the state governments and union territories across the country.
At present, three schemes of the Arunachal government are covered under the NSP – stipend of DHTE; umbrella scheme for education of pre-metric scholarship for ST children of SJETA; and umbrella scheme for education of post-metric scholarship for ST children of SJETA.
PHED Minister Bamang Felix, UD Parliamentary Secretary Techi Kaso, and Chief Secretary Satya Gopal were also present at the launch. (CMO)
