ITANAGAR, Apr 8: Members of the Silukian Welfare Kebang (SWK) on Saturday cleared invasive weeds and overgrown bushes surrounding electric poles in between Siluk and Ngopok villages in East Siang district.
The overgrown bushes and creepers had been disrupting the supply of electricity to the villages, the SWK informed in a press release.
It said it undertook the task ‘after the electrical department expressed its helplessness to clear the bushes due to shortage of manpower.’
The SWK demanded that the power department provide a new transformer to improve electricity supply in the villages, and urged the consumers of the villages to pay their electricity bills on time.
