AFA beat Burum United 1-0 in opener
NAHARALGUN, Apr 21: The 5th Sub-Junior Boys (U-16) Dera Natung State Level Football Tournament began at RG Stadium here on Saturday.
The inaugural match was played between Arunachal Football Academy and Burum United FC, in which the former defeated the latter by a solitary goal.
Kargil Yinyo scored the all-important goal in the 45 minute.
The tournament will see 16 teams vying for the top honour.
Parliamentary Secretary Techi Kaso and Sports Authority of Arunachal chairman Bamang Tago attended the inaugural ceremony.
Kaso advised the players to maintain sportsman’s spirit and work hard to become good players.
Earlier, a moment of silence was observed to pay respects to the memory of Taba Tania, who was a Class 1 state football referee.
