Governor, CM express grief over death of jawans

ITANAGAR, Apr 23: Governor BD Mishra and Chief Minister Pema Khandu have expressed deep anguish over the death of jawans of the Madras Regiment in the accident that occurred when the vehicle they were travelling in fell into the Kundilriver while crossing a bridge near Iduli village in Lower Dibang Valley district on Sunday morning.
Conveying condolences to the bereaved families, the governor, on behalf of the people of the state and his own behalf prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls.
“In this hour of grief, I pray for a secure future of their kith and kin,” Mishra, who has himself served as a brigadier in the Madras Regiment, said in his message to the commanding officer of 20th battalion of the Madras Regiment.
He also prayed for speedy recovery of the injured personnel of the battalion.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu also expressed deep anguish and shock over the untimely death of the jawans.
Extending solidarity to the bereaved families, the CM conveyed his condolences and prayed for speedy recovery of the injured soldiers, who are reportedly recuperating at the Chapakhowa CHC in nearby Assam. (CMO, PRO)
