Book on tribal life and culture released

ZIRO, Apr 24: Saint Claret College released a book titled ‘Tribals in the contemporary context: Myriad perspectives from Northeast India’ during the college’s commencement ceremony on 21 April.
The book highlights how modernity has affected tribal life and culture. It covers a wide range of tribal life and experiences, such as religious beliefs, cultural traits, politics, economy, healthcare, and tourism. It contains 18 papers presented during the national seminar held at the college, under the same theme, in 2016.
The book was released by Carlos Verga, head of the international office for youth affairs of the Claretian Missionaries, in the presence of IGTAMSU Vice Chancellor Dr Arvind Kumar, RGU Joint Registrar Dr Nani Tamang, and others.
