THEMBANG, Apr 24: An awareness campaign-cum-workshop on preservation and conservation of Thembang Fort under ‘the World Heritage Site project of Thembang’ was held here from 18-21 April.
The programme was taken up under the guidance of the West Kameng district administration and in collaboration with the Mon-Thembang Heritage Committee and the Thembang Bapu Community Conserved Area Management Committee.
The three-day workshop highlighted the meaning and significance of a heritage site and all the dos and don’ts related to its conservation.
Dirang ADC Dagbom Riba, Geshe Ngawang Tashi Bapu, director of the Central Institute for Himalayan Culture Studies, and Army and paramilitary officials were the resource persons of the workshop.
