Workable electronic connectivity in Arunachal by December-end: Sinha

ITANAGAR, Apr 27: Union MoS (independent charge) for Communication & Railways Manoj Sinha has said Arunachal Pradesh will have workable electronic communication and connectivity by the end of December 2018.
Sinha called on Governor BD Mishra at Raj Bhavan here on Friday and the two discussed issues pertaining to electronic connectivity and telecommunication facilities in the state. Sinha said he would review the ongoing projects and expedite projects which are under process for implementation.
The governor lamented that several important central government schemes are not being implemented properly in the state due to lack of electronic connectivity.
“Even the online registration process for Army recruitment is facing problems,” he said.
Mishra also drew the minister’s attention to the tardy progress of optical fibre cable (OFC) laying work across the state, and urged him to have the work expedited.
“Local inhabitants and the army personnel posted in remote areas find it very difficult to keep in touch with their families in case of emergencies,” he said.
The governor also requested the minister to station an officer of the rank of deputy director general (IT) in the state, saying it would aid in expeditious implementation and monitoring of OFC projects and other telecom services in the state. (PRO)
