JAMIN, Apr 28: PHE&WS Minister Bamang Felix inaugurated National Highway (NH) 713, extending from Joram to Koloriang road, on 26 April at the Choba block point, in the presence of the DCs and HoDs of Kurung Kumey and Kra Daadi districts.
Felix inaugurated the highway during his visit to Kra Daadi district to take stock of the development activities here.
Later, he visited the work site of the Pagu micro hydro system and instructed the hydropower department to complete the project within a year. He also instructed the department to liaise with the power department and make a comprehensive plan for power evacuation, transmission, and distribution.
Felix also visited Palin Model College and assured to send a team of officers from the higher & technical education directorate to inspect and assess the project to make the college functional at the earliest.
On 27 April, Felix and the entire team of Palin PHE&WS division took stock of the ongoing project for supply of water to 256 EWS (economically weaker section) families who will be living in the building which is currently under construction by the urban development department under the Rajiv Awas Yojana.
He also visited the Jorung water supply project (under NRDWP), which will provide water to the 50-bedded hospital in Palin, and to nearby areas.
Participating in a review meeting with the heads of departments, along with Tali MLA Markio Tado and the Kra Daadi DC, Felix advised the HoDs to converge and conceptualize their ideas together and make a comprehensive action plan for the welfare of the district.
He told the HoDs to be well versed with the budget and government policies, so that information can be disseminated to the grassroots and projects can be taken up accordingly.
He also gave a timeline for some of the departments to complete their respective projects. (DIPRO)
