Officers, workers should be skilled: PS

ITANAGAR, May 14: Every officer and worker must be well-equipped and fully skilled in their respective trade to upgrade and enhance their capacities, Power Parliamentary Secretary (PS) Thangwang Wangham said.
“Since the state government is fulfilling every demand of its employees, the employees should reciprocate by making extra effort in serving the public,” said Wangham on the inaugural day of the power department’s five-day training programme on ‘Power system control function’ which began here on Monday.
Stressing the importance of providing routine training on the latest technology for quick and quality service delivery, the PS lamented the current lack of work culture and skill among most of the employees.
He appealed to the officers to adapt with the times by reading books and attending training courses.
He suggested that training programmes on the latest technological advances should be conducted at the division and subdivision levels, “so that the normal functioning at the site is not affected.”
SLDC EE N Perme explained the technical aspects of the training, and SE (Transmission) HR Bado highlighted the current status of the power department. TPM Zone CE Anong Perme also spoke.
The chief engineers of the western electrical zone, the central electrical zone, and the transmission & distribution zone, along with the SEs of the power department are participating in the programme.
New Delhi-based Tata Power DDL has been roped in to impart training to the officers.
