14 persons without ILP apprehended

KANUBARI, May 15: Continuing their drive against illegal migrants in Longding district, the police here on Tuesday arrested 14 persons from various workplaces after they failed to produce inner line permits (ILP).
The checking drive was carried out by a team of police from the Kanubari police station, headed by SI RK Rai, following an order issued by Kanubari ADC T Mize on the advice of the DC to check illegal migrants.
Informing that similar drives will be carried out from time to time, Mize cautioned the public, work departments, and contractors to not engage any person without ILP in any work.
On 12 May, 87 people without ILP were apprehended and booked under the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation Act by the police in Longding. (DIPRO)
