DC hands over community toilet to SHG

ITANAGAR, May 15: Capital Complex Deputy Commissioner Prince Dhawan on Tuesday inaugurated a community toilet at Municipal Ward 11, and handed it over to SHG DWNE SET AJIN for its upkeep.
The toilet has been constructed for the convenience of the public and tourists, and it is the duty of every citizen to ensure its maintenance, the DC said.
He informed that the first phase of the construction of community toilets is expected to be completed in a month, “during which 48 community toilets will be constructed in Itanagar, Naharlagun, and Banderdewa.”
Five community toilets at various locations in Ward 8 have already been made functional. The complete list of toilets can be accessed at the website itanagar.nic.in.
Dhawan directed that the phone numbers of the SHG should be displayed on a board outside the toilet to receive complaints and suggestions.
The community toilet consists of separate facilities for males and females. Nominal user charges will be collected by the SHG for the toilet’s upkeep.
Councillor Higio Aruni, Circle Officer Moyir Kato, and officials from the PHED also attended the inaugural function. (DIPRO)
