APPDSU reiterates demand on teachers

ITANAGAR, May 16: The All Papum Pare District Students’ Union (APPDSU) has demanded the state government to issue direction to the department of Education to send all the subject teachers engaged as District Programme Coordinators (DPCs) and coordinators of RMSA and SSA on deputation under the establishment of DDSEs back to their original places of posting to teach in their respective schools.
Stating that there was no more need to continue with the posts of DPC and coordinators of RMSA and SSA under the establishment of DDSEs after the introduction of the new Integrated Scheme of School Education by the Government of India, the APPDSU also demanded immediate abolition of these posts (of DPC and Coordinators).
In this regard, the students’ union has submitted memoranda to the chief secretary, education minister, secretary (Education) and director of Secondary Education and Elementary Education on 15 and 16 May.
The APPDSU said that the engagement of teachers in non-teaching job or posts was one of the main reasons of shortage of teachers in various schools.
