Plan to install CCTV cameras in Itanagar: Waii

ITANAGAR, May 24: Home Minister Kumar Waii on Thursday said there is plan to install CCTV cameras in the city to ensure the safety and security of the people.
The cameras will be monitored by a city surveillance centre, Wali told a function after inaugurating a police assistance booth in the Rama Krishna Mission Hospital here.
The minister appealed to the people to cooperate with the police to maintain law and order in the state.
“The parents and guardians of a section of unemployed youths who resort to extortion should shoulder the responsibility to discipline them instead of blaming the police,” he said.
He lauded the RKMH for providing selfless service to the poor, and said the police booth was provided as desired by Chief Minister Pema Khandu to extend help on the spot.
“Another such booth will be set up in the Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences in Naharlagun,” he said.
RK Mission secretary Swami Vishaswnanda Maharaj thanked the chief minister for providing the booth to tackle problems relating to emergency medico-legal and trauma cases. (PTI)
