Pema govt’s achievements outstanding: Felix

ITANAGAR, May 28: Government Spokesman Bamang Felix on Monday said the achievements of the Pema Khandu government in the last two years have been “outstanding.”
Addressing media persons here, Felix gave a detailed account of the state government’s achievements, and said the revenue generated by the government in the last few years has also been outstanding.
“The measures adopted by the government to streamline finances resulted in higher revenue generation of Rs 1598.49 crore in the 2017-18 fiscal, compared to Rs 919.8 crore in 2014-15,” Felix said.
“Not only landmark decisions on the greenfield airport, but also the right of way for telecom, approval to raising of the upper age limit for competitive examinations, and many others were taken in the last cabinet meeting. Policy reforms like the Arunachal Pradesh Land Settlement and Record Amendment Bill 2018 have also been passed.
“Downward revision of stamp duty rates on registration for mortgage of land, and the Arunachal Pradesh Money Lending Bill 2018, etc, were passed,” Felix said.
He said that, besides introducing various reforms, the government has effectively implemented central programmes like GST, direct benefit transfer, public financial management systems, rural farm economy, etc.
Felix also highlighted the social security/welfare schemes of the central and state governments.
“Policies for revamping the education and health sectors, skilling and jobs, industry and investment, connectivity, etc, are also being taken up in right earnest,” the spokesman said.
“Promotion of indigenous culture and traditions, tourism and culture, power and hydropower, water and sanitation, and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan are being emphasized,” he added.
Felix also highlighted the policies adopted by the government to maintain law and order.
“For maintenance of forest and ecology,” he said, “an eco task force will be established and green spaces will be developed in Itanagar. Many welfare schemes for government servants and retired persons have also been undertaken,” he said.
“With support and guidance from the central government,” he said, “the Pema Khandu government will scale new heights in the field of development.”
BJP spokesman RK Khrimey said the BJP government at the Centre came to power with the promise of corruption-free and transparent governance.
“After four years, all the promises are being delivered. Now we have a decisive government which takes bold decisions for the sovereignty of the country and welfare of the nation,” he said.
He said that, under Modi’s leadership, India is emerging as one of the fastest economically-growing nations in the world.
“The stature of the country is growing day by day in the world polity,” he said.
“There are more than 100 flagship programmes, encompassing roads and transport, infrastructure, health, education, social security, women empowerment, etc, which will usher in unprecedented development in the country,” asserted Khrimey. (DIPR)
