Mr Arunachal, Miss NEFA Arunachal pageants to begin in Aug

ITANAGAR, May 30: The 3rd edition of Mr Arunachal and the 2nd edition Miss NEFA Arunachal contests will be held in October. This was announced by the organizer of Mr Arunachal/Miss NEFA Arunachal during a press conference here on Wednesday.
The event is being organized by the Mr Arunachal/Miss NEFA Arunachal Organisation, with theme ‘Think globally, act locally’, to promote local talents.
Addressing media persons at the press club, Opang Jamir of Nagaland informed that the search for the next Mr Arunachal/Miss NEFA Arunachal 2018 will start in couple of months, with zonal auditions starting in different districts from August. The grand finale of both the pageants will be held in October.
Opang, who is Mr International India 2012 and the ‘grooming guru’ of Mr Arunachal 2018, informed that this year’s edition would be bigger and better in terms of scale and outreach.
“Completing two previous editions successfully and having collaborated with Miss India Organisation in conducting the orientation and screening programme in Itanagar for this year’s Miss India pageant, we are positive and looking forward to their support in terms of talent management scouting for this year’s event,” he said.
He informed that to prep up the contestants, grooming classes will be held over 10 days to develop the overall personality of the participants.
Choreographer Chow Poran J Gogoi from Assam will be the ‘grooming guru’ of Miss NEFA Arunachal 2018. The third edition will also witness a fitness expert joining as a trainer for all the contestants.
Big names in the fashion industries like Femina Miss India and Mr India National talent coordinator Bennett Nathan, Mr World India 2016 Vishnu Menon, and Mr India Supranational 2016 Altamash Faraz will be attending as celebrity guests, Opang said
Meanwhile, reigning Miss NEFA Arunachal, Tenzin Chonzom, while encouraging the girls to participate in the beauty pageant, said that everyone is talented but they need little push to go in that direction.
Saying that participation is more important that winning the title, she said that such events not only offer lots of opportunities to individuals to learn many things but also help them in becoming better persons.
Ginggu Metum Timba, reigning Mr Arunachal, also urged the youths of the state to participate in the event. He said the event will provide a platform for overall personality development.
