Consultative meeting on govt schemes held

MEBO, Jun 1: Heads of departments, gaon burahs and villagers participated in a consultative meeting at Motum village in Mebo subdivision of East Siang district on Monday to discuss the implementation of government schemes in the subdivision.
The participants discussed the action plan for implementation of various schemes in the subdivision in the coming financial year.
Informing that several government-sponsored projects and schemes have been approved for implementation in Mebo during 2018-’19, Mebo EAC Sangeeta Yirang urged the implementing agencies to executive the projects within the stipulated timeframe.
Local MLA Lombo Tayeng urged the officers and the villagers to ensure transparency and accountability in the projects’ implementation. He cautioned the GBs against indulging in political activities for personal gain.
The MLA also expressed concern over the glut of RTI applications in various government offices, and said the practice affects development activities.
Tayeng distributed TV sets to 44 GBs from different villages in the subdivision. He also announced a cash award of Rs 2.5 lakh for the cleanest village in his constituency, after the local administration has assessed the sanitation in the villages.
East Siang DC Tamiyo Tatak called for concerted efforts by the officials, panchayat leaders and villagers for successful implementation of schemes. He urged the locals not to disrupt construction activities over land compensation and other issues.
The participants, including JNC Pasighat Principal Dr Milorai Modi presented their views, and called for timely implementation of schemes in their areas.
