BOMDILA, Jun 12: West Session Division Additional District & Session Judge Gote Mega on Monday sentenced one Swarangsa Basumatary to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment, under the NDPS Act.
The judge also imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on the accused. In default of payment of the fine, the accused will undergo a further rigorous imprisonment of six months.
The accused was proved guilty of transporting cannabis without valid permit, and of being part of organized crime operating across the state.
