HOLLONGI, Jun 12: Over 200 personnel of the 12th Bn National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) participated in a plantation drive at the battalion’s permanent site here on Tuesday.
Over 500 saplings of different varieties, which were provided by the Naharlagun DFO, were planted within the 66-acre campus.
Battalion Commandant AKC Singh briefed the personnel on the necessity of planting trees, and made them take a pledge to keep the campus green, clean and polythene-free to counter global warming and ecological imbalance due to deforestation.
He said permanent structures for the battalion here will be set up within this year.
