‘Release remaining compensation’

ITANAGAR, Jun 13: The All Lower Subansiri Youth Association (ALSYA) has in a representation to the secretary of Land Management on Tuesday last, demanded immediate payment of remaining compensation to the land affected people of Potin to Bopi road under the Trans-Arunachal Highway (TAH) to facilitate early construction of road.
The association claimed that after making about 80 percent of payment to the land affected people, the government has stopped compensation in the entire Lower Subansiri district following the order issued by the secretary of Land Management to freeze compensation related bank account of the Lower Subansiri deputy commissioner.
“The move has badly affected the genuine land affected people”, it said and demanded immediate revocation of the said order within 20 days from the date of submission of its representation.
It also demanded disbursement of compensation within next seven days and initiation of road construction within next 15 days failing which, it threatened to resort to democratic action.
