DFP launches special outreach campaign on IYD

ITANAGAR, Jun 20: The Regional Outreach Bureau (ROB) and its field units of the Directorate of Field Publicity (DFP) launched a special outreach campaign on the eve of International Yoga Day (IYD) in Arunachal Pradesh to educate the people about the benefits of yoga.
While ROB campus director Dr HR Keshavamurthy took the lead at Itanagar, the Field Outreach Bureau (FOB) in-charge of Tawang, Bomdila, Ziro, Tezu, Aalo and Pasihat organized the programme in their respective campuses on Wednesday.
The staff of the field units, along with their family members and neighbouring households participated in special programmes, where the benefits of practicing yoga were explained. Simple yogasanas (yoga postures) were also demonstrated.
The FOBs will organize special campaign in various schools in different parts of the state on Thursday and conduct public rally, quiz and painting competitions.
Yoga teachers will demonstrate asanas before school children on the occasion. Experts drawn from various field will speak about benefits of yoga in daily life.
The programmes will be held at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Tawang; Kendriya Vidyalaya School, Singchung, West Kameng; Government Secondary School, GTC, East Siang; Amik Ringya Cultural Hall, Tezu; Abo Tani Hall, Ziro and RK Mission School, Aalo.
