Governor gives away Rajya Puraskar Award to Scouts and Guides

ITANAGAR, Jun 22: Governor Dr BD Mishra on Friday gave away 19th Rajya Puraskar Award to twenty one Scouts and twenty one Guides from Tirap, East Siang, Lower Dibang Valley, Namsai, Upper Subansiri, Lohit, Papum Pare, Lower Subansiri, West Siang, Upper Siang and Siang districts at an award giving ceremony held here in the Darbar Hall of Raj Bhavan.
Congratulating the Scouts and Guides for the award, the Governor said the Rajya Puraskar reflects their hard work and dedication and they truly deserve it. He said that they are the assets and support of the state and they must continue to maintain discipline, be honest and transparency in their approach.
Commending the officers and scouts and guides of the state, the Governor, who is the Patron of BSG in the state, emphasised that the Bharat Scouts and Guides movement must be encouraged and promoted in every districts of the state.
Referring to the Sub Article (h) of Article 51-A Fundamental Duties as enshrined in Indian Constitution, the Governor urged the students to develop scientific temper, humanism and the spirit of inquiry and reform. He also advised them to be connected to humane values, i.e. fortitude, forgiveness, lessen pride, honesty, cleanliness, self control, calm, knowledge, truthfulness and no rage.
State Education Minister Honchun Ngadam, Director Secondary Education cum State Chief Commissioner for Bharat Scout and Guides, Arunachal Pradesh, Gania Leij and Deputy Director Secondary Education cum State Secretary for Bharat Scout and Guides, S Ronrang also spoke on the occasion.
State Scout Organizer P Kalita presented a brief report on Scouting and Guiding movement in Arunachal Pradesh. State Training Commissioner (Guides) Kempi Pakam briefed the Governor about Rajya Puraskar and achievements of the BSG of the State.
Scouts and Guides gave a First Aid Demonstration and students of Hornbill English Medium School and Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Itanagar presented a colourful presentation.
First Lady of the State of Arunachal Pradesh Neelam Misra, Secretary Education Madhu Rani Teotia, government officials, teachers, scout & guide masters and trainers, Rovers & Rangers also attended the function.PRO
