DC urges residents to maintain community toilets

ITANAGAR, Jun 28: Capital Complex Deputy Commissioner Prince Dhawan on Thursday urged residents to properly use and maintain community toilets installed in various parts of the capital.
The DC said this after inaugurating the community toilets at Wards 19, 20, 22, 26, 27 and 29 and handing them over to the respective SHGs for upkeep and maintenance.
The toilets have been constructed for the convenience of the public, and the public should use and maintain the facilities properly, Dhawan said.
The toilets are located near the DTO office at the Yupia tri-junction, Barapani market, D Sector, Polo Park, and G Sector; near the auditorium, at A Sector, near VV Giri Gate, and at Bage Tinali in Nirjuli.
The DC directed the SHGs to ensure proper maintenance of the toilets, and said the phone numbers of the SHG executive members must be displayed on a board to enable users to lodge complaints.
Each community toilet consists of two separate units of toilets for males and females. Nominal user charges will be collected by the SHGs for upkeep and maintenance of the toilets.
The complete list of toilets can be accessed at the website of the capital complex administration: www.itanagar.nic.in. Feedback may be updated on the Facebook page of the capital complex administration. (DIPRO)
