ITANAGAR, Jul 12: A delegation led by former Ward 18 councillor Gora Lotak called on Governor BD Mishra at Raj Bhavan here on Thursday.
Interacting with the delegation, the governor emphasized that the councillors of municipal councils should take the initiative to maintain cleanliness in the residential areas as well as in the public places.
“As Raj Bhavan is located in Ward 18, it must be a model ward in cleanliness,” Mishra said. “It should be the ward sending out messages of cleanliness to the capital city and the state.”
The governor also advised councillors and ward members to motivate and assist in sending every child above the age of six years to schools in their respective wards. “To achieve 100% literacy, every child of must go to school,” he said.
The delegation members assured the governor that they would do their best to ensure cleanliness and promote education in Ward 18. (PRO, Raj Bhavan)
