SP seeks people’s cooperation, holds CNBS meet

ITANAGAR, Jul 14: Newly posted Capital Complex SP M Harshavardhan has sought active support and cooperation from the public for maintaining law and order, peace, and communal harmony in the capital region.
Addressing the first meeting of the Capital Nagrik Bhaichara Samity (CNBS) held under his initiative at the SP office in Ganga on Saturday, the SP, who is also the chairman of the CNBS, said the policies and programmes of the police and the general administration would be successful only with the participation and active support of the masses.
He emphasized on forming residents’ welfare committee or association in all the colonies and sectors of the capital complex, which would coordinate with the police and the administration in maintaining peace.
Informing that traffic regulation is being streamlined with the deployment of traffic wardens, Harshvardhan urged vehicle users to help in smooth flow of traffic. He also sought cooperation from the local bodies in imposing a total ban on gambling.
Itanagar SDPO Kamdam Sikom and Naharlagun SDPO Make Bui highlighted issues relating to law and order, public awareness, and traffic regulations.
Various grievances of the people of the capital complex were discussed, and the CNBS members also offered solutions to various grievances.
