APWWS questions govt’s silence over ‘arbitrary APSCW appointment’

GUWAHATI (Assam), Jul 28: Arunachal Pradesh Women Welfare Society (APWWS) president Dipti Bengia Tadar questioned the silence of the Pema Khandu led-government in Arunachal Pradesh and the state’s governor in the matter of the “arbitrary appointment” to the fifth body of the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW).
The APWWS president said this during a press conference the APWWS convened at the press club here on Saturday, following the state government’s alleged failure to respond on the issue of “illegal and arbitrary appointment” to the 5th body of the APSCW.
Despite the APWWS having submitted representations to both the chief minister and the governor on 13 June, there has been no response from either of them till date, Bengia Tadar said, and accused the Arunachal Pradesh government of undermining the rights of women.
