Congress questions govt on illegal children’s homes

ITANAGAR, Aug 31: The Arunachal Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee (APMCC) has alleged that the state government is not taking stringent action to “curtail the proliferation of illegal children’s home or orphanage in the state.”
The APMCC has demanded that the government conduct a survey of illegal orphanages and shut them down to save the lives of orphans.
It asked why the government is not cross-checking the random promotion of illegitimate business enterprises on the pretext of running orphanages.
It also asked the current government whether it has any official record of approved, unapproved and illegal orphanages in the state.
