35 weavers receive Mudra loan

LONGDING, Sep 5: The Micro Units Development & Refinance Agency Ltd. (MUDRA) loans amounting Rs 20 (approx) lakh were disbursed to 35 women weavers of Longding district.
The loan sanction letters were distributed to the weavers by Longding Deputy Commissioner Vikram Singh Malik in a programme at his office, here on Wednesday.
The deputy commissioner said that all the beneficiaries would be recommended under the CM’s Bunkar Yojana, announced last year.
Malik urged all the beneficiaries to make optimum use of the loans for betterment of their lives and economic status.
“The MUDRA loans were result of untiring efforts by MLA Thangwang Wangham, who pursued the matter constantly with the bank officials at Longding as well as at Tinsukia, Assam.”
SBI’s Longding Branch Manager C Thoudam informed that 25 more loans worth over Rs 10 Lakh will be disbursed in the coming month.
Longding ADC Taga Ekke and Assistant Director of Textile & Handicrafts NK Rana were present on the occasion.
