GHSS hostels reopen as org adopts

BANA, Sep 10: The boys’ and girls’ hostels of the government higher secondary school (GHSS) here in East Kameng district, which had been lying defunct for many years, reopened on 7 September with the enrollment of 30 boys and 21 girls.
The Bana Richukrong Social & Development Organization (BRSDO) has adopted the hostels.
Both the hostels were renovated by the Bana PWD subdivision. While the PHED provided the water supply, the power department repaired all the damaged electrical parts in both the hostels, informed BRSDO general secretary Robin Hissang in a release.
Responding to a request from the BRSDO, MLA Mama Natung had on 14 August announced Rs 1 crore for infrastructure development of the school, Hissang said.
An induction-cum-orientation programme was also held for the boarders to apprise them of the hostel rules and regulations.
CO Pooza Sonam Natung, BEO Ashing Lamgu, Govt College Seppa Principal Robin Hissang, GHSS Bana Principal Rabom Rangmo, and entrepreneur Kasung Cheda shared their ideas regarding discipline, career-related information, hostel rules, and other matters relating to education.
