Bameng goes smokeless with inauguration of gas agency

BAMENG, Sep 14: Bringing much relief to the people of Bameng, a gas agency, M/s Takar-Pu Indane Gramin Vitrak, was inaugurated here in East Kameng district on Wednesday by Home Minister Kumar Waii.
It is the first and the only gas agency in the area to cater to the needs of the people of Bameng block.
Waii congratulated the people of the area, appreciated the district administration for the achievement, and urged the people to strive hard to make Bameng a smokeless area.
Announcing slew of upcoming projects, Waii said “the state government is working with renewed vigour with the Centre to ensure that the fruits of real development are percolated down to the grassroots level in this democratic setup of governance.”
He also briefed the gathering on the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), and informed that the Sarkar aapke dwar programme is going to be held very soon in the area.
Saying that he accords uniform attention to every individual and treats every village and their people equally, Waii urged the people not to play politics in matters of development.
He said he would leave no stone unturned for all-round development of his constituency in particular and the state in general.
Deputy Commissioner Gaurav Singh Rajawat highlighted the objectives and salient features of the PMUY, and urged every woman to avail the benefit of the scheme.
He said the district administration would provide assistance for smooth operation of the gas agency.
IOCL area manager (LPG sales) Dilip Talukdar enumerated the benefits of using clean cooking fuel with regard to health, economic, safety, and the environment.
More than 300 households led by female beneficiaries belonging to the BPL category were given free LPG connections during the function. Among others, SP Vikas Kumar, ADC Pama Bagang, and HoDs were present at the inauguration. (DIPRO)
