PASIGHAT, Sep 19: The Tourism department conducted a cleanliness drive as a part of ongoing ‘Swachhta hi Seva’ abhiyan in collaboration with the Bodak villagers at the confluence of Siang and Sibut rivers near Bodak in East Siang district on Wednesday.
The confluence of Siang and Sibut River serves as the hotspot for picnic groups from East Siang district and neighbouring Assam.
During the cleanliness drive, the villagers and tourism staff collected plastic bottles and other waste materials from the picnic spot, cleared the jungles and disposed of the waste materials.
East Siang DTO T Tatak asked both the staff of the Tourism department and the villagers to continue the cleanliness.
