Mishra advocates holistic development of state’s tourism

NEW DELHI, Sep 20: Arunachal Pradesh Governor BD Mishra met Union Minister of State for Tourism KJ Alphons here on 20 September and held discussions on specific issues for enhancing and promoting tourism in Arunachal Pradesh – particularly Parshuram Kund in Lohit district.
The governor impressed upon the minister the need for overall holistic development of Parshuram Kund “to promote spiritualism and age-old values, while keeping the Indian culture and traditions of the kund undisturbed.”
Sharing his experience of having to climb over 400 steep steps down to the kund from the hilltop near the temple premises, the governor said “the need of the time is to facilitate the aged pilgrims and women to perform their puja with convenience and safety, so that they can carry back good experience from the pilgrimage.”
Mishra also emphasized on having a holistic approach in harnessing the tourism potential of Arunachal Pradesh.
He requested the MoS to commission “eco-friendly, tourist-friendly tourism and socially beneficial projects in Arunachal Pradesh.” (PRO, Raj Bhavan)
