IMC clears garbage dump

KARSINGSA, Oct 8: A team of officials and workers from the Itanagar Municipal Council (IMC) cleared the dumping ground here on Sunday.
Capital Complex DC Prince Dhawan said although the dumping ground here is cleared at regular intervals, “the designated dumping ground does not have enough capacity to dump all the waste generated from Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa area.”
Dhawan said the IMC is nevertheless trying its best to streamline the system by carrying out regular cleaning. “At present the garbage is being managed by embedding with soil in layer and some are incinerated,” he informed.
The DC urged the residents of the capital to dump garbage at the designated dumping zones and not near the highway.
“Many a time it is seen that people dump their garbage right on the highway,” he said. (DIPRO)
