Ongoing summary revision reviewed

PASIGHAT, Oct 15: Election Observer for the 36th, 37th, 38th and 39th scheduled tribe assembly constituencies under East Siang district, Anirudh Singh reviewed the progress under the ongoing electoral summary revision, hereon Monday.
Singh, who is also the state Commissioner of Tax & Excise, reviewed the draft electoral roll publication, reception & disposal of offline and online claims and objections, SVEEP Systematic Voter’s Education and Electoral Participation) programme and grievances disposal system, etc in the presence of DEO cum Deputy Commissioner Tamiyo Tatak, EROs and AEROs.
Expressing satisfaction with the progress made so far, he asked to ensure strategy for 100 percent EPIC coverage, so that all eligible citizens participate in the electoral process.
The meeting also took up conducting special campaigns for women voters for promoting gender ratios in the electoral roll.
He also took note of the dovetailing of SVEEP with Sarkar Aapke Dwar, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and other community platforms to create awareness among voters.
Seeking views of the representatives of the political parties, he called upon the party representatives to appoint block level agents in their respective constituencies and lend support in creating awareness among eligible voters under SVEEP.
He also asked to create awareness on claims and objections which will be conducted within October, while the hearing period has been fixed by respective EROs for November.
EVM/ VVAPT sensitization for representatives of political parties was also held at the deputy commissioner’s office.
